Bio:

I love brush lettering because I love being able to apply my own personal style to a word or quote and watch the letters come to life in a completely unique way. One of my favorite tools for brush lettering is the Pentel Aquash Brush Pen. Being a lefty it's hard to find a brush that works for me, but the Aquash is perfect for lettering and adding hand painted wreaths to my quotes, too!

Brush lettering allows me to express myself as simply or intricately on paper as I feel in the moment. If I had nothing else but paper and ink, I could still explore my imagination and let my creativity flow. I love to play with different types of pens, markers, brushes and media because each one lends its unique twist to lettering.

Bio:

I started lettering in April of 2016. I have done scrapbooking and card making for many years and have always been very drawn to typography and color. Once I started seeing calligraphy and lettering become popular I knew that was my calling. I started out using Olivia's practice guides and it has been non-stop since then! My favorite lettering medium is a paint brush and liquid watercolors but I recently got an iPad pro and Apple Pencil so digital lettering is really becoming a favorite as well.

I'm a self-perpetuating procrastinator who'd rather be creating than anything else. In July 2015, in a bid to improve the look of my efforts in my travellers notebook I started researching calligraphy. I now have a passion for creative hand lettering on my iPad Pro 9.7 with Apple Pencil.

I am a mama from Chicago who discovered brush lettering to be the best creative outlet, and I have loved learning and developing this skill. My current favorite tool is the Pentel Aquash Water Brush because it feels like a marker and paintbrush combined.

I love lettering because of how versatile it can be. It's also perfect in that you don't need to start out with any artistic background.

I have always been interested in how unique and personal one's handwriting is, and also by the infinite possibilities when it comes to drawing lettering. When I started brush lettering I fell in love instantly with the therapeutic rhythm of the up and down strokes and beautiful swirls. My current favourite pens are my Artline Stix brush markers.
